Secretly I wish I was Carrie Bradshaw...the fashion sense, the love of shoes, the witty journalist and I could go on and on! I'm very excited about the movie coming out. A couple of years ago I really got into the whole series. I never had HBO and I still don't, but I would faithfully order the discs through Netflix.com. I would go through a disc a day, return it in the mail the next day and anxiously await the new disc to come in. I believe I finished the whole series in about a months time. It was great!! At that time, a couple of my girlfriends from work were also into the series and we would sit and chat about the episodes that we all saw, trying so hard not to spoil any episode that was not seen by all.
Since then, I have moved on to a new job but keep in touch with the above mentioned friends as often as I can. Now that the movie is coming out next week, we have set a date to meet up to watch it together, preferably a matinee (with the price of movies these days, it has to be a matinee). It will bring back memories of the old days working together and being single. It will bring back the memories of deciding who in your life at the time reminds you of Carrie, Charlotte, Samantha and Miranda. Discussing with your girlfriends the storylines and plots and relating to almost all of them in one way, shape or form.
M and I have been together for 7 years before we got hitched, so I wasn't techically single, but very much living on my own with a college friend and doing whatever I pleased. Not much of that has changed thus far, I am still free to do what I choose, but funds are so much tighter than those past years and with owning a home, lots of projects going on. I am constantly trying to budget for the week making sure we have enough for gas money and the mortgage payment.
I can't wait to relive the Sex and the City cast and I hope this movie will not be a disappointment compared with the series!
