Great time in Alaska

I wanted to share some pictures from our Alaskan honeymoon! We had a great time and I kind of wish we could go back really soon. I haven't had a vacation like that in a long time and it was M's first cruise. Most of the time I will just take vacation time and do things around the house, but this vacation was awesome!

This is us in Talkeetna, AK, a small little town with lot's of shops!

This picture is pretty self-explanatory.

Us on one of the snow capped mountains in Alyeska, AK...we had to take a Tram up to the top...pretty cool!

A picture of the Hubbard Glacier from our cruise ship!

Us getting ready to dog sled on the Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau, AK!

Dog sledding was awesome! What an experience!

What beautiful scenery!

Honeymoon Countdown!

It is exactly one week until our real honeymoon to Alaska! I am getting so excited I can't contain myself. Last night I wanted to get myself all organized with the proper documents, tickets and information that we are going to need. We are flying Northwest airlines...which I have never flown before...so I decided to check their luggage policy online. We are only going to be able to check in one piece of luggage each and any additional luggage is going to cost us!! I was really upset when I saw that. Our vacation is 10 days long, 3 days on land and 7 days at sea, not to mention that they tell you to dress in layers due to the variation in Alaskan weather, clothing for our outdoor excursions and informal/formal dinner wear. There is no possible way that the both of us are going to be able to just bring one piece of luggage. I'm thinking we may have to pay for one more bag and have us both utilize it wisely. Ridiculous!!
On another note, I booked one of those Honeymoon breakfast in bed packages. I guess they bring you breakfast to your stateroom, along with chocolate covered strawberries, champagne, terry cloth robes and engraved champagne flutes. I thought I would surprise Mark with it the first day we are cruising on the ship. I'm so excited about, I just want to tell him now! But I definitely want it to be a surprise, so I talked about it all day today at work and now I am blogging about it.
I know we are going to have a great time! I'm actually glad that we had the chance to postpone our honeymoon. I feel that with the stress of the wedding and the post wedding tasks (thank you notes, organizing shower gifts, paying off debt) that it is a great time to take a vacation to finalize everything being done.
